Principal Scientist, Protein Sciences, Analytical Characterizations September 2025 Department: Technology Position Summary: TCG Labs-Soleil is seeking a highly experienced and driven Principal Scientist to lead our analytical efforts and join our multidisciplinary Protein Sciences group within the biologics Technology team. This critical role will lead the developability assessment efforts for our biologics research programs. They will design, execute, and interpret analytical and biophysical characterizations in support of a diverse protein and antibody focused pre-clinical therapeutic pipeline. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading complex R&D projects, mentoring research scientists, and contributing to the strategic direction of the Protein Sciences group. This candidate will have a 'can-do' attitude and lead from the bench. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement analytical methods for the characterization ofdiverse biologicswith an emphasis on LC-MS and biophysical characterization to drive discovery programsthrough the research pipeline. Establish and validate robust biophysical assays to characterize therapeutic biologics (monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, fusion proteins, etc.) Design and execute experiments,make detailed observations, analyze and interpret data, and deliver results in a concise and timely manner to the team. Manage CROs and external collaborations on analytical development. Prepare precise technical summaries, protocols, and maintain appropriate documentation. Deliver concise data summaries to leadership and ensure clear communication with the development team. Lead program analytics efforts to support program progression. This is a full-time and lab-based position. Qualifications: Ph.D. (or equivalent) in biochemistry, biophysics, analytical chemistry, or a related field, offering 10+ years of monoclonal and multispecific antibody characterization experience in biotech or startup environments. Demonstrated leadership managing scientific teams and mentoring direct reports to drive performance and growth. Deep technical expertise in biophysical methods, including HPLC, CE, SPR, DSF, DSC, SEC-MALS, and LC-MS. Strong foundation in protein analytics, with extensive hands-on PTM characterization of biologic therapeutics. Proven track record in developability studies across monoclonal & multispecific antibodies, fusion proteins, and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). Comprehensive understanding of biologics drug discovery-from hit-to-lead through lead optimization to candidate selection stages. Research-driven mindset with a clear orientation toward translating findings to deliver therapeutic solutions. Experienced in CMC development processes and contributing to IND filing initiatives (highly desirable). Meticulous in data organization, adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.
