What You'll Do: Serve as SDC's internal lead for AI initiatives, coordinating with larger AI company on roadmap, priorities, and standards. Design and deploy robotic process automation (RPA) solutions that streamline workflows across departments. Build Power BI dashboards and data pipelines that pull from Total ETO (ERP), SAGE (accounting), Smartsheet (project management), and SOLIDWORKS (design) via REST APIs and SQL. Design and deploy agentic models (AI agents/tools) (e.g., OpenAI API, Copilot, retrieval/function-calling pipelines) to automate various stages of the machine design process Create smaller internal automations (Python scripts, SQL, ETL jobs, alerts) to eliminate manual steps across all departments. Support engineering teams with light controls/robotics interfaces and data bridges (PLC/HMI/robot data tags, test harnesses) in collaboration with CE/ME leads. Responsible for version control, documentation, and secure deployment of internal tools; train users and ensure continuity and consistency. Track outcomes with KPIs (hours saved, error reduction, lead-time improvement) to share with management team. Understand and evaluate IT related contracts. Facilitate/perform internal IT related tasks. Requirements: What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Controls, Electrical, Computer, Software, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related discipline). 3+ years' agentic tooling experience (OpenAI API, Co-Pilot Studio, or similar) and/or low-code automation (Power Automate, Zapier) a plus. Experience in industrial automation/controls or software engineering in a factory automation context. Hands-on with data integration (REST APIs, SQL), scripting (Python preferred), and dashboarding (Power BI or similar). Familiarity with enterprise systems (Total ETO, SAGE, Smartsheet, SOLIDWORKS) Understanding of PLC/HMI/robotics concepts to collaborate with CE/ME teams; prior controls background strongly preferred.
