About the Opportunity: • Job Title: Tool & Die Maker Class A • Pay Rate: $44.22/Hour • Location: Golden Valley, MN • Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Thursday 6AM-4:30PM Mandatory Overtime as needed • Position Type: Temp to Hire Requirements and Qualifications: • Minimum of 6 years' experience in the construction, alteration, and repair of complicated tools, dies, gages, molds, and special equipment. • Minimum of 4 years' tool and die experience. • Ability to operate Wire and Sinker Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM) and Computer Numeric Control (CNC). • Tool Design experience a plus. • Technical degree or certificate in Toolmaking. • Physical effort required in handling of heavy tools or dies and standing a majority of the shift. • Majority of time is spent planning or laying out work and performing machining operations. Duties and Responsibilities: • Plan, layout, construct, and repair all types of tools such as dies, fixtures, gages, molds, and special equipment of the highest intricacy, where accurate relationship, fitting, and interchangeability of parts requires the maintenance of extremely close tolerances or fits. • Use shop mathematics, trigonometry, and handbook formulas as well as outstanding ingenuity and judgement to construct tools where no design is available. • Understanding the various grades of steel along with characteristics. • Applicant must understand concepts of hardening, tempering and annealing techniques of metals. • The ability to read complex blueprints, understanding industry allowances, diagnose, and perform difficult and advanced tooling techniques on new, existing, or prototype tools.
