What you will do: The Manufacturing Supervisor is accountable for directing the activities of a work team to meet daily production schedules in the assembly/fabrication of sub-assemblies, parts, or units within an assigned area while upholding a strong commitment to production goals, efficiency, quality, and safety standards. RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Manages the production employees functions in assigned work areas to assure support of all components of manufacturing required to meet the needs and requirements of internal and external customers with established specifications with scheduled completion dates. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the team achieves goals in safety, quality, cost, and delivery. Works closely with other departments as well as coordinating activities across all shifts. Handles administrative tasks as necessary such as payroll, vacation management, production reporting, small projects, etc. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 1. Maintains productivity levels according to plant goals. 2. Coordinates daily or weekly production plans with Department Leaders in assigned work areas. 3. Works with management in a joint effort to provide the worker with a safe attitude, safe surroundings and safe equipment. 4. Responsible for job assignments and time management for indirect projects within assigned areas 5. Provides and or request skills training for all newly hired employees and refresher training for all employees on an as required basis, as well as updating employee training records. 6. Maintains proper housekeeping in assigned work areas 7. Assures employees follow all rules and regulations for the plant, and to follow disciplinary processes as required. 8. Completes final quality Inspections of manufactured units prior to call for Quality Department Final Inspection. 9. Provides all required documentation to file prior to Final Quality Inspection. 10. Identifies employee resource requirements according to workload in assigned areas. 11. Maintains on-time shipping goals based upon on-time unit start dates. 12. Assures that assigned production employees are trained to and do follow written construction standards. 13. Assures that assigned production employees are trained to and do follow all Quality standards. 14. Maintains daily labor and attendance records. 15. Controls manufacturing coded warranty on assigned units - not to exceed plant goals. 16. Identifies materials variances and work with appropriate personnel to reduce such variances. 17. Interviews, hires, and trains employees as well as appraises their performance, disciplines, addresses complaints and resolves problems. 18. Responsible for driving safety performance within the plant to achieve the JCI gold safety status (goal: no recordables or lost time injuries). 19. Perform safety observations/inspections as required. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an Associate's degree and five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment. In the absence of a 2-year degree in an appropriate field of study, formal certification a total of eight (8) to ten (10) years of related experience is required. Normal mechanical and analytical ability is needed as well as good communication skills. HIRING SALARY RANGE: $60,000-82,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
