SUMMARY AND PURPOSE Provide professional equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, analysis, site acceptance and customer support services for a complete range of Schneider products. Commission equipment at customer's facility as required. Provide customer remote support for troubleshooting, analysis, and solving complex inquiries from customers. Deepen the understanding of products, customers, goals, organization, and business strategies, evaluating systems and processes, and identifying improvement needs. Design, develop and implement equipment control systems and subsystems for multiple simultaneous projects following established design standards and practices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Incorporate standard control designs and ancillary subsystems to efficiently design and manufacture in a manner that meets project requirements and facilitates safe, productive startup, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment using established design standards. Commission equipment, including final acceptance, prior to shipment. Commission equipment at customer's facility as required. Provide satisfactory field support which will include travel to customer locations up to 80% to ensure satisfactory operation of machines, production support, and training. Meet Schneider's quality standards while maintaining working knowledge of relevant technologies and best practices. Provide direction to electrical, assembly, and service as required for execution of designs. Develop and implement processes that improve manufacturing production and deliver quality outputs. Meet project Quality Plan requirements and project schedules for controls. Attend all department and process driven meetings. Contribute as a member of a team of design professionals to achieve project, department, and company goals. Creating or modifying existing simulations for modifications to existing Schneider equipment. Build professional skill through continued training, education, and networking events. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Education: o BS in Engineering, associate's degree in applied technology, completed mechanical/electrical apprenticeship, or equivalent experience. Experience: o 5+ years of experience in a field service capacity or 1+ years of experience in a design-build manufacturing environment as a controls engineer. o Must maintain valid enhanced driver's license and/or passport for travel. o Experience applying PLC-based programming languages to control and monitor industrial machinery and/or industrial processes. o Allen-Bradley Studio/ RSLogix5000, FactoryTalk View Studio experience strongly preferred. o Fanuc experience strongly preferred. o Project management experience preferred. o Advanced training/education in engineering, leadership and project management preferred. Description: Objectives of this Role Provide professional equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and customer support services for a complete range of Schneider products. Demonstrate excellent technical, customer service and communication skills on the job. Train customer employees on fundamental operation and maintenance procedures for Schneider equipment. Meet Schneider's quality standards while maintaining working knowledge of relevant technologies and best practices. Duties and Responsibilities Perform installation, start up and debug of Schneider equipment at customer locations. Provide service maintenance, troubleshooting, and training following established company procedures. Greater than 75% travel required. Serve as the liaison between the customer and company. Ensure the customer receives the final, up-to-date machine documentation (manuals, electrical drawings, etc.). Manage the assigned project ensuring schedules and objectives are met. Ensure customer satisfaction by obtaining written site acceptance on work performed. Demonstrate profound knowledge of the theory of operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all equipment, operator interfaces, applied technologies and sub-components applied in the manufacture of Schneider equipment. Utilize Dynamics 365 Field Service Module to complete daily time entries. Provide trip report entries detailing service trip progression and results. Manage trip expenses utilizing SAP Concur platform. Provide in-house technical and phone support when requested. Use a wide variety of resources (hand tools, computers, and software) to perform routine and non-routine maintenance, troubleshooting and reports. Support back office ensuring all daily/weekly documentation is completed, accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Requirements: Skills and Qualifications Associates degree in applied technology or completed mechanical/electrical apprenticeship or equivalent experience. Short-term training in programmable controllers is desired. 3+ years of experience in a field service capacity or as a plant maintenance technician. Strong electrical, mechanical, and programming background. This includes robotics and PLC ladder logic. FANUC robotics experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail. Strong sense of personal accountability regarding meeting deadlines.
