Currently, we are looking for Commercial Tire Technicians to join our growing family. A McMahon's Best-One commercial tire technician is a skilled professional responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and balancing tires on heavy-duty fleet vehicles like semi-trucks, buses, construction machinery, and agricultural equipment. They operate both within a service shop and out in the field to handle emergency roadside assistance calls. Requirements: For Tires: remove, install, rotate, balance, and perform flat repairs on commercial and large equipment tires (in shop or at customer location) For Retreads: prepare retreads (discuss tread with customer, prepare work order, put in staging area, load in truck), unload treads (unload from truck and stack in warehouse area) Equipment: raise and lower vehicles safely with hydraulic or floor jacks, safely operate all shop machinery, operate and maintain diagnostic equipment Read work orders thoroughly and perform all listed tasks Perform all applicable tasks within company's time standards Commercial Tire Technician Requirements: Must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner. Must have a valid driver's license; driving record must meet company's insurance requirements Position requires continuous standing, bending, lifting and ability to lift up to 50+ pounds. The ability to work in a fast-paced customer service-oriented environment. Team- Player: Works well as a member of a group. Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well. Must pass a pre-employment background check/drug screen Physical Demands / Work Environment Frequent squatting, bending, and twisting. Provide consistent, reliable and accurate vehicle repair recommendations. Perform complex and in-depth repairs with confidence and proficiency on all vehicle systems, such as timing belts, head gaskets, intake manifolds, major and minor component replacements on vehicle A/C, ignition, electrical, emissions, exhaust, heating, cooling, engine, drive train, and all other vehicle systems. Inspect vehicles using Digital Vehicle Inspection and report potential repairs to service advisor. Mentor other techs when possible. The primary responsibilities of our Lube/Tire Technicians include passenger tire service, basic vehicle maintenance and repair, and vehicle inspections. For tires (functions performed per TIA guidelines): Remove, install, rotate, balance, and perform flat repairs Reset TPMS when needed Inspect tread depth, air pressure, and carcass for defects, for every tire that comes through, and recommend corrective action For vehicles: Inspect vehicles using our DVI device (digital visual inspection) and report potential repairs to supervisor. Perform basic maintenance and repair, including oil changes, chassis lubrication, filter and fluid inspection and replacement, and other light mechanical items and repairs Raise and lower vehicles safely, with hydraulic or floor jacks Safely operate all shop machinery, including but not limited to: rim clamp machine, balancer, floor jacks or lifts, air powered tools, torque wrench and/or torque sticks, and parts washer Read work orders thoroughly and perform all listed tasks Perform general housekeeping duties. Our Commercial Diesel Mechanics focus on the repair, maintenance, and servicing of diesel engines such as trucks, buses, construction equipment, and agricultural machinery. They use various tools and equipment, such as diagnostic scanners, wrenches, gauges, and specialized software, to troubleshoot problems and ensure the proper functioning of diesel engines. Requirements: Identify and diagnose issues with diesel engines and related systems. Repair and replace faulty components within diesel engines, such as fuel injectors, turbochargers, pistons, valves, and belts Engine systems. Conduct repairs on other systems connected to the engine, such as the cooling, electrical, or exhaust systems Cooling systems. Performing extensive engine overhauls or rebuilds if necessary.
