The Broadband Access Director is responsible for leading the strategy, performance, reliability, and continued development of the Company's wireless and GPON access infrastructure. Job Overview: As the Broadband Access Director, you are responsible for the overall direction, reliability, optimization, and operational performance of the Company's wireless and GPON access networks. This role provides leadership to the Broadband Access team, establishes standards and priorities for access network operations, supports tower crews, installers, and internal stakeholders, and ensures that access infrastructure is deployed, maintained, and improved in alignment with company goals. The Director provides technical guidance for complex provisioning, troubleshooting, frequency coordination, backhaul, access point, CPE, and GPON issues while driving process improvement, documentation, accountability, and service reliability across the access network. Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the Broadband Access team responsible for GPON fiber access, fixed wireless access, backhaul, and related infrastructure.Oversee GPON access infrastructure planning, provisioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and optimization.Establish standards for OLTs, ONTs, splitters, fiber serving areas, access network documentation, capacity management, and lifecycle replacement.Provide escalation support for complex GPON, wireless, backhaul, CPE, and customer-impacting access network issues.Coordinate with Network Operations, Engineering, Construction, Tower Crews, Installers, and Customer Experience to support reliable broadband service delivery.Manage access network platforms, vendors, equipment standards, reporting, and operational tools.Review work orders, speed upgrades, network changes, outages, and recurring issues to drive timely resolution and process improvement.Assist with budgeting, staffing, resource planning, capital planning, and team workload prioritization.Promote safety, accountability, documentation, training, communication, and continuous improvement across the Broadband Access team.Participate in and manage on-call expectations for the Broadband Access team as needed. Qualifications: A qualified candidate must possess the following skills, or have equivalent experience and/or qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in telecommunications, networking, information technology, business, or related field preferred.Five or more years of broadband, telecom, network operations, GPON, fiber access, fixed wireless, or related technical experience preferred.Three or more years of supervisory, management, or team leadership experience preferred.Strong understanding of GPON access infrastructure, including OLTs, ONTs, split architecture, fiber serving areas, provisioning, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and performance optimization.Working knowledge of fixed wireless access networks, wireless backhaul, access points, CPE, and frequency coordination preferred.Experience with access network monitoring, provisioning, documentation, GIS, and management platforms preferred.Strong leadership, communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work outside standard business hours and support service-impacting issues as needed. Physical Requirements: This position requires sitting to complete work with a computer using a variety of software, network management, GIS, reporting, and telephone applications. The role may also require occasional travel to company sites, tower locations, network facilities, meetings, or field locations as needed. Visual and audio acuity is essential to this position. Combination Technician Visionary Broadband seeks a qualified individual to fill the role of Combination Technician. This full-time, hourly position will join the Fiber Drop crew(s) at Visionary Broadband, a division of Visionary Communications, Inc., one of the top service providers in the region. This position will be based out of our Cheyenne, WY location. Wage Range: $23.50-25.00/hour Duties and Responsibilities: Underground Drop Safely and efficiently install underground cables in residential and commercial environments. Use best practices for installing underground wiring so as not to violate local building codes. Operate various trenching equipment such as a mini skid steer or walk beside trencher. Locate existing buried copper and fiber facilities and comply with 811 requirements (OneCall) before any digging projects, properly identifying other utility flags and safely working around other utilities. Load reel trailers with strand, fiber or cable as required. Bury cable and conduit systems, by operating blowing, plowing, digging, boring, and trenching equipment and pulling fiber and cable through conduit systems. Overhead Drop Safely and efficiently install overhead cables in residential and commercial environments. Use best practices for installing underground wiring so as not to violate local codes and regulations or customer specs. Load reel trailers with strand, fiber or cable as required. Hang overhead cable or strand using various methods including but not limited to a ladder, bucket truck, or gaffs. Pull fiber and cable through conduit systems Tower Technician Install equipment on Tower Assembling electronic equipment in racks/cabinets, plumbing all RF, wiring Telecom Installation of RF/ground/power/telecommunications cabling. Completion of client and company checklists, photos, and test results typically communicated to management (emails, uploads to FTP, Web Interface, etc.) Maintain network documentation with a very high level of accuracy Completing work that is assigned while on 24-hour "on call" duty to resolve any tower-related or customer issues Qualifications: A qualified candidate must possess the following skills, or have equivalent experience and/or qualifications: A valid driver's license and be insurable to drive a company vehicle is required. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Good knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, as well as ability to quickly learn and work within proprietary computer applications. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated problem solving abilities Flexibility to work outside of standard 8am-5pm hours and be willing to travel on a weekly basis. Must be willing to travel within the region (Montana, Wyoming and Colorado) 30-50% of the time (hotels and per diem paid for out of town travel). Generally, you will be home most weekends.
