Diverse Abilities Swim Instructors (Part-time) Diverse Abilities Swim Instructor Start ASAP Mondays 5-6 p.m. Private Lessons Available The YMCA is a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As the nation's longest-standing provider of swim lessons, the Y plays a vital role in promoting water safety and skill development. We are currently seeking a Diverse Abilities Swim Instructor to provide direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes designed for individuals with diverse abilities. Experience working with children with special needs is a must Position Responsibilities Instruct swim lessons aligned with YMCA standards Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment Motivate and support swimmers with diverse abilities Demonstrate and teach proper swimming techniques Uphold and model YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility Schedule & Availability Mondays 5-6 p.m. Additional private lessons available Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Required experience working with children with diverse abilities Ability to demonstrate swim instructor skills, including 4 of the 6 strokes in good form per YMCA standards Preferred: YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent Certifications a plus: CPR for the Professional Rescuer Basic First Aid Ability to perform physical tasks required for swim instruction Compensation $15/hour to start - experience working with children with special needs is a must Join our team and make a meaningful impact by helping individuals of all abilities gain confidence, safety, and skills in the water. Kid Zone (Part-time) The Kid Zone is a fun, interactive and developmentally appropriate space for Children age 0-7 to visit while parents use the Y facility. The incumbent's primary responsibility is to provide a positive, sensitive, caring, safe and fun environment for children in the Kids Zone. The incumbent is a team player who demonstrates strong organizational, verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills. The incumbent accepts, demonstrates and teaches the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Shifts available: Monday - Thursday: 4:30-8 p.m. Saturday: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Salary: $13.00/hr The candidate must accept and demonstrate the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The candidate must be able to perform physical tasks commensurate with the position requirements.
