The Global Security & Safety department is responsible for ensuring the safety, security and well-being of all ESPN human resources, guests and assets. In addition, we provide security and safety services for all ESPN owned and leased facilities and ESPN remote events worldwide! The Security Specialist will assist in all Main Security Office functions to include security Implementation, emergency response, supervise fire and HVAC Systems, partner with local police and fire departments, dispatch operations, and emergency notifications. This role is a significant contributor to ensuring property and people protection and the safety at The Woodlands facility located in Montgomery County, Texas. What Will You Do? Greet, screen, and advise all visitors following the established procedures. Implement company security and parking policies consistently and fairly. Supervise company property, identify and report safety and security hazards. Secure property as advised. Completes and issues hot work permits. Conducts inspections per hot work permit processes to preserve safety at ESPN facilities. Conducts fire watch assignments in designated hot work areas. Provide appropriate general information to visitors and employees. Perform general security system checks and access control duties at high traffic exterior posts in accordance with established procedures. Monitor fire alarm control panel and interpret alarm indicators for emergency type and location. Rapidly reposition to location of possible emergency and assess, resolve and respond within a three (3) minute timeframe from initial alarm. Assist with scheduling maintenance for fleet vehicles. Respond to medical, fire, security, and other safety related emergencies and incidents as trained and write comprehensive reports following established procedures. Might be asked to provide security presence at special events (on or off-campus). Perform vehicle inspections in accordance with established inspection protocols. In some instances, establish barricades, operate gates, and generally direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Complete special assignments and assist with Command Post and Global Operations Center duties Accurately build work orders documenting requestors name, location, type of service needed and dispatch maintenance personnel to the accurate location of requested work orders. Identify craft on all routine requests and build work orders Assist in the distribution and tracking of related departmental keys. Supervise handheld radio channels for HVAC, Electrical, Maintenance, Construction and Safety to facilitate communication between groups. Receive and process all requests for facilities services through phone calls or email and radio. Supervise main company external phone line and direct incoming telephone calls as appropriate. Required Qualifications & Skills Must possess and maintain a valid Texas DL. One year of customer service or related experience. Must pass a pre-employment background check, DMV check, and urinalysis drug screen. Currently possess and maintain a valid Non-Commissioned Security Officer License in the State of Texas or be able to acquire on within 30 days. Flexibility to work varying schedules (hours and days off) and work overtime as approved. Perform basic work tasks on computers, including using MS Outlook email and Word. Maintain a professional presence in image and interactions. Complete required hot work permit training. Clear teamwork focus and the ability to perform tasks independently within established guidelines Preferred Qualifications Excellent customer service skills A minimum of two years or more of security or law enforcement experience. Outstanding writing ability and command of basic English grammar Strong leadership, judgment and decision-making skills Highly adaptable with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure Ability to operate company transportation, including fleet and golf cart vehicles Able to take command and patiently control difficult situations One year or more of work experience in Facilities Management or similar field handling service requests. Education High School Diploma or equivalent experience. A Day in the Life of a Manager of MEP Systems Assists the Director, Facilities Infrastructure Operations with the assignment and coordination of day-to-day tasks. Leads a group of staff Electricians and HVAC technicians and/or third-party contractors as part of a defined project team. Enhances facilities services and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Achieves MEP maintenance operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolving problems; determining system improvements and implementing change. Establishes a schedule for maintenance on equipment, track repairs and schedule third-party repair work when necessary. Ensures MEP systems operate effectively in support of all buildings with priority status on technical production facilities, technical equipment rooms and radio/television studios. Analyzes and recommends proper course of action in problems associated with all MEP equipment, and DDC building management systems. On occasion will be required to respond via phone to after hours and weekend trouble calls. Coordinates on-call third-party service vendors' response. You will need these skills to be successful in the role The successful candidate must possess a current State of CT type E1 or E2, S1 or S2 license and must have worked a minimum of 10years under a licensed electrical or mechanical contractor in the State of CT. 10 years of experience with all aspects of MEP distribution systems including electrical distribution equipment, generators, UPS equipment, medium voltage switchgear, air handling, fluid handling, boilers, DDC control systems and Central Plant Chilled Water systems. Training for this position includes: Electrical Safety, RF Safety Training, First Aid/CPR/AED, Confined Space Training, Fire Extinguisher Training, Spill Response Training, Flash Hazard Protection and First Responder It would be a plus if you had these skills 5 years in people and project management with emphasis on goal-oriented performance based initiatives and directing teams Hands-on experience with high reliability mission-critical electrical distribution equipment is required Experience with Russelectric Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems is a plus Experience with Alerton DDC Building Management Systems is a plus Certified Level III Thermography Working knowledge of physical plant safety programs and shall be able to demonstrate understanding of fire life safety procedures and requirements A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD are a plus.
