Principal Duties/Responsibilities: Performs expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing devises in operation to location root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools. CNC Maintenance & Repair Experience Highly Preferred. Identifies and sources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary. Performs evaluations of alternatives to improve cost and / or reliability of equipment. Compiles alternative packages for purposes of retrofit, upgrade, or alternative functionality of equipment. Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards; creates maintenance standards and instructions for altered or new manufacturing equipment. Directs customer counterparts in maintenance optimization efforts, reliability, and preventative maintenance processes. May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks. Conforms and complies with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes Documents work performed in service reports, applicable management systems, and written explanation regarding observation and collected equipment performance data. Compiles technical manuals, operations, and maintenance processes relevant to equipment upgrades and automation integrations. Provides assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to project teams. Performs expert functions as a part of training and development. Alters, troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems. Utilizes advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data. Observes trends and makes recommendations. Conducts on-the-job training and leads technical programs for technical development of customers and coworkers Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies: Essential KSAs: High School Graduate or equivalent (GED). Associates degree with a Technical focus and 12 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 15 years of experience in specific industry. Possesses comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs. Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools, and programming software as appropriate. Extensive travel required. (Local and/or national). Desirable KSAs: Experience in condition based maintenance techniques, precision mechanical alignments, maintenance of applicable process equipment, and automation integration. Robust experience in programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, maintenance of electrical drive and motor systems, and motion control devices. Leads, drives and participates in CI activities processes, results and cost savings using CI tools and methodology. Identifies and sources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary. Suggests alternative items and engineered solutions to improve reliability. Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards. Complies with 5S and housekeeping standards. May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks. Studies and investigates technical and systems methods, tools, and innovations that can be implemented in ATS sites to improve maintenance practices and updates documentation. Prepares input for cost analysis for new equipment, repair/rebuild proposals, cost savings and innovations as required. Updates records and reviews CMMS history and analyzes data. Provides technical contents of sales quotations and performs T&M duties as required. Trains and coaches less proficient technician. Assumes project manager responsibilities as assigned. Summary: Performs various expert-level electronic component level repairs using complex techniques and procedures to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair complex problems on a broad range of industrial electronics including but not limited to the following: Drives (AC, DC, VFD, Servo) PLC's, Power Supplies, HMI's, Laser scanners, AC Motors, DC Motors, Servo Motors, Circuit Boards, and other Industrial electronics. Solders and desolders circuit board components effectively and efficiently. May assist with new product development. Communicates with customers and may travel to customer sites. Designs fixtures and performs warranty and root-cause analysis. Reviews and edits standard repair processes and develops cycle time improvements. Achieves year over year productivity increases. Takes responsibility in setting standards/methods for testing methodology. Processes required service report paperwork. Assists less experienced technicians and may provide direction, guidance and backup for department. Estimates labor hours, skillsets, parts, materials, equipment and special tools required to complete proactive jobs in a safe and efficient manner. Gathers relevant technical documentation such as drawings, schematics, specifications, spare parts lists from equipment histories, OEM manuals and the Knowledgebase system. Maintains an organized and prioritized work order backlog to determine the next highest priority jobs to be planned next and maintains the Ready Backlog at or above 80%. Employs the continuous improvement process to update Job Plans for accuracy and effectiveness. Conducts weekly planning & scheduling meetings with Production to determine work order priorities, communicate work order status and alter planned maintenance activities if necessary. Creates a Weekly Technician Schedule that includes priority planned jobs and preventative maintenance tasks that utilize 100% of the available technician labor hours. Improves work order planning and scheduling effectiveness through the review process and use of the maintenance metrics. Maintains records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance related matters. Trains site employees on CMMS and ensures that it is working with integrity and is being utilized. Summary: The Condition Monitoring Expert II will remotely monitor machine health and coordinate the distribution of gathered information to ensure machines are operating properly to increase productivity and reduce risk. They will serve as the secondary resource for support to include monitoring and research of complex service alerts and other machine information while coordinating with customers or location personnel to provide solutions. Principal Duties/Responsibilities: Performs data analysis, report generation, and technical consultation using technologies such as ultrasound assessments, vibration analysis, and oil analysis, and other contextual data collected from remote sensor applications. Uses data analysis tools to identify impactful asset risks, and influence customer maintenance teams to leverage opportunities to reduce machine downtime, reactive labor, and failures. Evaluates machine information, technical data, and component specification to provide asset focused proactive corrective actions to customers. Analyzes data to determine trend changes, and probable causation to provide feedback and recommended corrective actions to preempt failures and prevent downtime/reduce cost. Utilizes remotely gathered sensor data to detect, identify, and isolate specific component degradation and its causes prior to serious damage or actual failure. Leads ongoing cadence calls, responds to incoming and escalated technical inquiries from customers via telephone and platform communication venues, and escalates to Senior level Condition Monitoring Experts for support in higher complexity analysis and communications. Serves as a secondary triage for incoming customer inquiries and handles or escalates appropriately. Effectively presents information to management and customers through creation of asset health reports, critical technical findings, and root cause documentation. Communicates summaries of actionable recommendations quickly and accurately through translation of technical, statistical, and predictive data analytics into front-line action planning. Connects directly with customer front-line technicians to guide troubleshooting, supporting data collection, and provision of OJT support in corrective actions. Reviews installation of devices, validation of data accuracy, and provides initial insights from newly monitored equipment in the completion of the condition monitoring program "first-pass". Participates in customer facing training and consultation with emphasis on technical elements of monitoring data interpretation and corrective actions. Provides excellent customer service and follow-up through ad-hoc and regularly scheduled customer meetings. Assists customers in calculation of cost savings and identification of continuous improvement projects. Associates degree with a Technical focus and 5 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 7 years of experience in specific industry. Experience in predictive technologies, precision alignments, and general maintenance of applicable process equipment. Understands electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs. Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate. Experience in vibration analysis or laser interferometer operations, precision alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment. May be required to travel. Physical Demands and Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud.
