The Electrical Engineer I provides sound engineering principles in design, development, implementation, testing and evaluation (by analytical or other means) for equipment applied in nuclear safety-related projects. Includes development of design drawings, item test plans, various calculations, and subsequent test reports. The engineer will work with various power and control related equipment such as motor control centers, switchgear, control panels, starters, relays, transformers, circuit breakers, disconnects, as well as many other types of control and power equipment. This role will work on engineering related activities on projects from start to finish and will provide assistance to senior level engineers managing complex projects. Responsibilities:Primary responsibility is to ensure that equipment technical specifications are met, that project scope is performed with adequate engineering rigor while mitigating project risk in order to maintain project schedule and provide the highest quality possible result.Maintain ongoing project requirements and specifications for multiple projects for multiple clients.Analysis of component functional and design requirements for development of test plans.Perform design reviews with the engineering team to ensure that the design meets the client requirements and industry design standards.Creation and refinement of design and test documentation to capture design intent and document the key aspects necessary to accomplish the quality and documentation goals of a project including:Commercial Grade Dedication plans, equipment test plansSeismic, environmental, and/or EMI/RFI qualification test plans and reportsDiscrepancy report resolutionEngineering calculations and evaluationsDesign drawing package creation (including Solidworks CAD)Create project documentation to convey the key aspects of a design to a client or manufacturing partner.Perform root cause, apparent cause and/or common cause analysis and testing activities, when required.Work as peer review of documentation prior to client delivery.Interaction with the production floor to resolve design and/or testing issues.Collaborate with other engineers to increase knowledge/skills.Develop analytical processes.Share experiences.Review others designs. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with industry experience (electrical, industrial, electronics, manufacturing) is required.Communicate effectively, both verbally and written. An Electronics Repair & Test Engineer is responsible for the testing and repair of various analog and power electronics systems that are related to Nuclear Safety. A strong candidate for this position possesses a working knowledge of analog and power electronics used in power supplies, inverters, battery chargers, and various signal conditioning and processing systems. This position will be required to develop detailed test procedures/documents for the functional testing of the specimen as well as the replacement components required for the repair. The individual will be responsible for providing detailed circuit analysis as well as detailed circuit operation justification to be documented. Responsibilities: The Electronics Repair & Test Engineer will be tasked with intermediate level project scopes involving the following: Perform functional testing to generate documentation necessary for technicians to perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide variety of analog and power electronics systems.Create project documentation including acceptance test procedures, repair reports and technical memos for various electronics systems with and without any technical documentation or specifications available.Translate technical aspects and requirements into formal documentation.Read schematics and assembly drawings.Generate equivalency evaluations for comparison of replacement components after repairs/refurbishments.Create dedication/qualification paperwork of commercially available components for safety related applications in nuclear utilities.Analyze circuitry to be able to determine theory of operation and define operating parameters.Evaluate components for the impact to for form, fit, function and environmental qualification requirements.Design and develop test benches for testing.Perform failure analysis of various components and recommend solutions.Use various electronics lab test equipment to perform troubleshooting down to the component level.Communicate with suppliers to resolve non-conforming purchase order requirements and materials.Communicate with customers to answer technical questions.Management may assign additional related tasks.
