Key Responsibilities Fabrication: Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to measure, mark, cut, and shape sheet metal for HVAC components. Assembly: Construct ductwork and related products by welding, bolting, riveting, or fastening with clips and bonds. Installation: Install fabricated ductwork, piping, and assemblies into residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. System Calibration: Verify and adjust HVAC systems to ensure proper airflow and overall functionality. Maintenance & Repair: Inspect, clean, and repair ductwork and sheet metal parts as needed. Insulation: Fit and install insulation materials to maximize system efficiency and performance. Safety Compliance: Follow established safety practices to minimize risks of cuts, burns, and falls when working with tools, equipment, and at heights. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and written instructions. Mathematical Ability: Apply measurements and calculations accurately in fabrication and installation. Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve issues affecting system installation or performance. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy materials; work while standing, bending, or kneeling for extended periods. Tool Proficiency: Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment, including scribes, dividers, squares, rulers, and drills. Communication: Strong teamwork and communication skills for effective coordination on job sites. Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an apprenticeship program combining on-the-job training with classroom instruction preferred.
