Job Summary: Responsible for basic prep work behind the bar, including such tasks as refilling ice bins, restocking liquor, replacing kegs, cutting garnishes, and clearing away and washing empty glasses. Assists bartenders to maintain service level standards. Assures that the lounge, bar and bar storage areas are organized, stocked, clean and efficient. Qualifications: Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred. Basic understanding of beer, wine, spirits and sake preferred. Must be certified in Responsible Alcohol Service by applicable agency. Where applicable, holds a state and/or local food handlers card. Ability to walk, sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be 18 years of age or older or in accordance of state law. High School diploma or GED preferred. Equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, nights and weekends. Must be able to work overtime as required. Develops and implements plans to continually improve guest satisfaction in the areas of server attentiveness and table cleanliness. Concentrates on training service personnel, to continually improve the guest experience. Ensures safety, sanitation, and security guidelines are followed at all times and immediately resolves any items identified in inspections. Reinforces suggestive selling behaviors by ensuring that the guest is invited to enjoy sushi, side orders, beverages, and desserts as part of the dining experience. Responsible for maintaining the Company standards of products, services, and quality. Education and/or Experience: One to three years of management-level hospitality and/or restaurant work experience required or a minimum of 6 months as a Shift Supervisor at Benihana with good performance and positive results. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. A College degree in hospitality management or related field preferred. Proficiency in food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports. Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a POS system. Previous experience in teppanyaki-style restaurant highly desirable. Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel). Experience with Aloha POS, HotSchedules and UltiPro strongly preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license (except in NY). Must be eligible to work in the United States. Must agree to background and credit check. ServSafe certified alcohol service certified preferred.

Assists with the setup of large parties and communicating which areas of the restaurant are ready to be seated in order to assure customer satisfaction. Qualifications: Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times. Exercise sound judgment and possess good problem-solving skills. Where applicable, holds a state and/or local food handlers card. Ability to walk, sit and stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. Must be 18 years of age or older or in accordance of state law. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, nights and weekends.
