We estimate projects from $6M to $45M, ranging from 14-unit apartments over mixed use up to 320-unit site developments. Join us and build a brighter future together! Cost Estimating: Coordinate with operations staff to integrate estimates and assumptions into project plans. Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project requirements and scope. Analyze project drawings and specifications to estimate materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Utilize historical cost data, industry benchmarks, and subcontractor quotes to develop accurate cost estimates. Prepare detailed take-offs and scope breakdowns for all aspects of construction projects to assist with qualify bids from subcontractors & suppliers Bid Preparation: Prepare bid packages using HCG planroom to solicit proposals on all scopes of work for a complete budget. Manage bid software to send, update, and track bid projects. Obtain bid coverage from all trades on bid projects. Evaluate bids from subcontractors/suppliers to identify qualified bids and populate estimates. Manage the master bidders list and prequalification tracking. Assist with bid coverage through cold calls to find new subcontractors and follow-up calls with existing subcontractors to get full bid coverage in all scopes. Collaborate with project management and business development teams to develop bid strategies and pricing approaches. Cost Analysis and Value Engineering: Conduct cost analysis and value engineering assessments to identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization. Collaborate with design teams, architects, and engineers to develop alternative construction methods and materials. Identify scope gaps and potential risks, ensuring assumptions and qualifications are documented. Develop comprehensive bid proposals, including cost estimates, project schedules, and value engineering recommendations. Document Management: Analyze blueprints and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates. Assist with document management for projects, including receiving and distributing drawings and specifications. Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely completion of bids. Communicate effectively with trade partners and the HCG team. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of residential/commercial construction techniques. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes. Prior experience reading blueprints and specification manuals and applying information to the project. Proven experience with effective analytical skills and attention to detail. Must have a valid driver's license and insurance with reliable transportation. Technology: Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, TogalAI Estimating, STACK Estimating, Pantera Planroom) and Microsoft Office Suite.
