Service, diagnose and repair/rebuild all engine/components regardless of model/maker of equipment, including electrical, computers, and monitors at customer's jobsite. Disassemble, inspect and determine parts needed. Reassemble to factory specifications. Interact with customers and answer repair-related questions as required. Refer non-repair related questions to supervisor. Perform heavy electrical and computer repairs. Interpret and utilize information from operating, maintenance and service manuals/bulletins. Inspect components removed from machines to determine their reusability. Prepare parts requisitions, parts returns, accurate and complete service reports, and other necessary reports and forms. Clearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely manner. Maintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment. Perform various other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For: Minimum of four years ' experience repairing heavy construction equipment preferred. Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing expert level mechanical repairs. High school diploma or GED required Thorough knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical and other related components to troubleshoot and analyze unique and high level problems/issues quickly and improvise using logic and critical thinking skills to make needed repairs. Excellent mechanical aptitude. Ability to repair Caterpillar and competitive components and machines. Excellent driving record and the ability to obtain a CDL.
