Ensures that radiographs are taken in accordance with the State regulations and in conjunction with the ALARA principle. Accountable for adhering to the guidelines, conducting and maintaining records of quality control test required by the ACR for the accreditation for mammography. Responsibilities: Identifies care needs of patients/significant others and implements interventions and utilizes equipment necessary to meet the specific needs of the patient population served to include: neonates, infants, pediatric, young adults, middle adults and late adults. Assists physicians with imaging procedures, i.e. needle placements. Researches and obtains prior mammogram films as well as reports to ensure proper patient care as well as maintaining patient records. Assures all exams are completed and transmitted to the appropriate locations. Assures proper patient identification, appropriate requisition/exam check-in documentation and is entered into PACS correctly Assures all exam date entry is correct and completed Able to operate all equipment to include DR, CR, fluoro , diagnostic rooms and portable machines. Able to perform the variety of exams that are performed in diagnostic radiology. Selects correct technical factors, cones, collimates and shields patients, and ensures that a grid is utilized when appropriate, to ensure an image is of diagnostic quality. Will participate in educating students, will observe and provide feedback to students completing diagnostic studies in a professional manner. Will generate appropriate documentation regarding the maintenance of equipment and supplies. Reports to and is evaluated by the Diagnostic Supervisor and the Director of Medical Imaging Services. What you will need: Graduate of a JRC/ERT approved Radiologic Technology Program Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English language. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) Licensed by the State of Maryland.
