Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000 annually
Location: Ashland, OR

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is seeking an experienced and solutions-oriented Facilities Manager to lead the care and operation of OSF's extensive physical facilities, including three major performance venues, approximately 80 apartments, and multiple ancillary buildings and properties. This role is ideal for a seasoned facilities leader who combines technical expertise with strong people, project, and budget management skills.

The Role You'll Play

As Facilities Manager, you'll lead OSF's Facilities Department and oversee maintenance, custodial services, grounds, building systems, security, and fleet operations. You'll manage staff and contractors, oversee capital and maintenance projects, and partner across the organization to keep OSF's facilities safe, functional, well-maintained, and responsive to operational needs.

What You'll Do

Lead Facilities Operations: Oversee maintenance, custodial services, grounds, building systems, security, and facilities work requests across OSF properties.

Manage & Develop the Team: Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Facilities staff, including the Facilities Assistant, Custodial Manager, maintenance technicians, and tradespersons.

Maintain Critical Building Systems: Ensure HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, elevators, and other systems are properly maintained and operating safely and efficiently.

Lead Projects & Capital Planning: Serve as project or construction manager for renovations and improvements and coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants on future capital projects.

Manage Budgets & Vendors: Develop operating and capital budgets, oversee purchasing and expenditures, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate bids and contracts.

Oversee Fleet & Properties: Manage OSF's vehicle fleet and support the maintenance and operation of OSF-owned and leased properties.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure facilities operations meet applicable building, fire/life safety, environmental, accessibility, and occupational safety requirements.

You'll Thrive Here If You

Have 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, building maintenance, construction, or a related field, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
Have significant experience managing multiple buildings or properties and leading employees, contractors, and skilled tradespeople.
Bring experience developing operating and capital budgets and managing construction, renovation, remodeling, or major building-system projects.
Can read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
Bring strong project management, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Have journeyman-level experience, certification, or licensure in a building trade such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or HVAC.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in facilities management, construction management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
Experience managing facilities for a large campus, performing arts organization, theatre, university, hospitality organization, or other complex multi-building environment.
Experience working in a unionized environment.
Experience with capital planning, construction bidding, and contractor management.
Knowledge of building codes, OSHA regulations, accessibility standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
Experience with fleet management and preventative maintenance programs.

Physical & Schedule Requirements

Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, access roofs and mechanical spaces, and work in varied weather and facility conditions. The standard schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., with flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays, emergencies, construction projects, and other operational needs.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) was founded in 1935 in Ashland, OR, and has grown from a three-day festival of two plays to a nationally renowned theatre arts organization that presents a rotating repertory season of up to 10 plays and musicals, including illuminating interpretations of Shakespeare, other enduring classics, and new works.
