About the Job Well established precision sheet metal manufacturer is now accepting applications for 1 st and 2 nd shift press brake operators. This is an opportunity for the right person to join a dynamic team focusing on quality and performance to exceed our customers' expectations. This individual must have experience with Amada press brakes , the ability to read blueprints, bend deductions, flat pattern layout, bend sequencing, multiple setup, and knowledge of tooling, coining and air bending. The job responsibility will include a drive for continuous improvement in quality and the ability to meet demanding schedules. Responsibilities: Set up and configure Amada press brake machines for each job, including selecting appropriate tooling (dies and punches). Load and verify CNC programs (for CNC-controlled press brakes) and ensure they are optimized for the material type and part specifications. Perform test bends to ensure machine settings are accurate before starting production. Prepare and load raw material (e.g., sheet metal) onto the press brake, ensuring it is securely positioned. Operate the Amada press brake to perform precise bending of metal parts according to engineering drawings and blueprints. Job order understanding Tooling they need - pull own tooling & loading their own tooling into the equip Program the equipment (thin & force machine needs) Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, checking for proper bends, dimensions, and tolerances using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and protractors. Record and track part quality and production rates to meet company standards. Ensure the press brake machine is kept in good working condition to minimize downtime. Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring that the work environment is safe. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or training in machine operation, fabrication, or manufacturing preferred. Must have 5 years of experience in precision sheet metal manufacturing. Must have 5 years of experience setting up, tooling and operating Amada press brake equipment. Strong understanding of press brake operations, including setup, operation, and maintenance. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications. Familiarity with CNC-controlled press brake programming and operation. Skilled in using measuring tools to check dimensions and tolerances. Good problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Your own tools are required. Drug screen administered as a condition of employment.
