RS Upholstery Tech II in GAC St. Louis Unique Skills: The compensation range for this role is $24.75 - $28.87 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location. Position Purpose:Under minimal supervision fabricate and install upholstery, cover panels, and make simple patterns for aircraft interiors using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications. Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions: Fabricate, using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications, cover and install flat panels and curtains. May sew simple covers using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications. Work with fabric, vinyl and leather hides, composites and other materials using specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools and various power tools. Cut and surge carpets, cover bulkheads and cover/install panels. May be responsible to fabricate various metal parts, fit panels and windows, cabin head liners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, and windows. Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work. Additional Functions: Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce, cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Manufacturing and other process improvement techniques. . Use the material tracking system, Corridor, to create parts demands, track squawks and to sign-off work. . Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and use personal protective equipment as required. . Address unsafe conditions before putting others as risk. . Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand proficiently the English language. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation. Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations. Must be computer literate. Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Pay Rate: $21.00 an hour with $2.00 an hour additional shift differential on swing and grave shift Sign On Bonus: $2,000 hire on bonus is for new hires and rehires that are returning after 5 years or more. The bonus will be paid out in equal $333/$334 portions after successfully completing 3 months, 6 months and 9 months of employment with Treasure Island Resort & Casino. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clean areas 30+ feet high (such as ceilings, vents, light fixtures, walls, pool area lights, etc.) and other areas needing ladders over 6-feet or the use of a mechanical lift Clean carpets, upholstered areas and hard surface floors Set-up, repair and perform preventive maintenance on department equipment Inform management of any problems, equipment malfunctions and/or hazards Complete duties as per standard operating procedures (such as shampooing carpets and upholstery, stripping and waxing floors, burnishing, etc.) Maintain clean working areas (such as storage closets and equipment) KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Preferred Knowledge and Certification: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience Previous janitorial experience Required Skills: Accurate and detail-oriented Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills Strong mechanical aptitude Required Abilities: Ability to work fast and efficiently Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene Ability to learn appropriate chemical usage and proper equipment usage Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner Ability to serve both internal and external customers PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to walk and / or stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel Must be able to reach and twist routinely Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely Must have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds routinely Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions Must be able to climb a ladder and work at high elevations of 30+ feet Must have good eye hand coordination Must be able to operate foot pedals WORKING ENVIRONMENT Work is performed throughout the property and may include excessive noise, dust and chemical fumes, flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays Must handle hazardous materials Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals Must be willing to clean body fluids when necessary High volume direct public contact
