The Position An Interim Director, Operating Room, is needed to lead surgical services operations and strengthen team culture throughout eight ORs. The Interim Director will oversee approximately 50+ FTEs. Key responsibilities include improving team relations, fostering a culture of safety and accountability, supporting staff through visible leadership and rounding, and overseeing pre-op, PACU, and operating room operations across multiple specialties. The ideal candidate will have strong operating room leadership experience, a proven ability to build trust with staff and physicians, and expertise in managing complex surgical services environments. Must be highly organized, patient-focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical. Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance. Requirements BSN is required. Active TX and/or compact RN license is required. Compensation Details Compensation Range: $175,000 to $180,000 annually. The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. The APP functions as a member of the Lung Transplant and Thoracic Surgery Surgical Management teams. In conjunction with the attending, the APP will oversee care from the operating room and inpatient to discharge and throughout all aspects of the continuum of care. The APP may provide care throughout the system, including ICU, progressive and telemetry. UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital: The University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital is a 569-bed acute care hospital. It has Central and Eastern Kentucky s only Level I trauma center and handles the most severe traumas. It has the only Level 4 neonatal intensive care unit in the area to treat the sickest infants. The hospital offers 100 intensive care beds, a post-anesthesia care unit, 17 operating rooms, 14-bed labor and delivery and 26 mother-baby rooms. The hospital draws upon the resources of six UK colleges: Medicine, Nursing, Health Sciences, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Public Health. AREA HIGHLIGHTS The UK Transplant center has provided second chances for lung patients and their families for more than 30 years.
