If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility. Community Internal Medicine, Palliative and Geriatrics (GIM-GP) cares for patients age 18 and older. LPNs in Community Internal Medicine play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care for adult/geriatric patients. The LPN is responsible for after-visit care for provider appointments and managing nurse visits through the LPN calendar including; administering immunizations and medications, performing ear lavage, post-void residuals, intermittent and indwelling catheter care, wound care and removing sutures or staples, reinforcing patient education.
