Schedule: 2-2-3 Rotation, 6 AM to 6 PM Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform accurate hourly checks on assigned equipment and make necessary adjustments as needed to keep product within customer and organization specifications. Safely and efficiently operate machinery including: HTST, Ultrafiltration, Microfiltration, Nanofiltration, Reverse Osmosis, Spray Dryers, Separators, Heat Exchangers, and Packaging. Accurately per checks for flow rates, temperatures, system pressures, pH, percent solids, and protein percentage in a timely manner. Shutdown, clean, and startup assigned machines on a daily basis or when required. Set up line circuits, silos, and tanks to be CIP'ed and set up backup for production as required. Safely load and unload outgoing and incoming trailers as needed, including dry cargo, bulk powder and liquid tanks. Check incoming loads of whey, WPC, and permeate to verify conformity to organization requirements. Complete quality checks as required, including Water Quality, Chemical Concentration, and Foot Formers. Complete tasks in the Master Sanitation Book as required. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Work requires frequent walking, standing, pushing of carts and wheelbarrows, bending, and stooping. The gardener occasionally climbs ladders to prune or trim shrubs and trees and frequently lifts heavy objects, such as bags of fertilizer, grass seed, etc. Incumbent uses heavy physical effort in constantly reaching, bending, turning, and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to manipulate different sets of controls in operating the equipment and attachments. Considerable strain is caused by the constant vibration of the equipment and the jerking and jolting from operating over rough surfaces. Work Environment: Work is performed outside and the incumbent is subject to discomfort for long periods of time in heat, sun, cold, rainy, or snowy weather conditions. The incumbent is exposed to dust, dirt, mud, snow, ice, and sometimes to chemical products during their application. Required to wear protective PPE clothing, such as gloves, safety shoes, goggles, hearing protection, and boots at all times. There is a chance of minor injuries such as bruises, cuts, and scrapes. Incumbent works in all types of weather, often in an open driver's seat or platform, on hills, or slopes. The position is also subject to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, and fumes from motor exhaust.
