Powered by two trusted, global brands, Shark and Ninja, the company has a proven track record of bringing disruptive innovation to market, and developing one consumer product after another has allowed SharkNinja to enter multiple product categories, driving significant growth and market share gains. Headquartered in Needham, Massachusetts with more than 3,600+ associates, the company's products are sold at key retailers, online and offline, and through distributors around the world. The Product Development organization within SharkNinja drives our global product roadmap from concept to shelf through the constant lens of the consumer. We are the "product CEOs" and partner cross-functionally with almost every other team within the company to drive high satisfaction for our end user and to drive business results. We are comprised of individuals from a variety of professional and educational backgrounds, from product marketing managers to consumer-focused engineers - but we all have one thing in common: we're consistently striving to deliver a 5-star experience for every customer on every product we bring to market. The Vice President of Product Development will drive a cross-functional team to deliver against consumer satisfaction, revenue, and profitability targets. The ideal candidate will be able to successfully deliver 5-star products to market while collaborating on the business and go-to-market strategy with key partners across the organization. This role will also bring elevated expertise in skincare and beauty-tech consumer products-potentially including devices that border on medical-device classifications-ensuring rigorous user safety standards, claims substantiation, clinical testing integration, and compliance considerations throughout development. Responsibilities: Drive the SharkNinja business with the development of successful and profitable programs for a full product category, ensuring continued growth of the product portfolio. You will lead new product development (creation and management) of assigned product categories from brainstorm through mass production, as well as partner with the SVP to define the over-arching category roadmap. This includes skincare and beauty-tech devices, where you will guide the integration of dermatological insights, user-safety requirements, and regulated-claims considerations into the product strategy. You are responsible AND accountable for progressing, reporting on, and actioning your and your team's deliverables. Lead, manage, and grow team members (Intern through Manager level) within the organization - providing guidance on their assigned projects, ensuring product success, supporting professional advancement, and holding them accountable to their responsibilities. You will be viewed as an "expert" people leader with proficiency navigating people, conflict, and resource management, including mentoring teams developing skincare, topical-interaction, wearable, or device-adjacent medical technologies. Identify emerging trends and consumer preferences-including shifts in beauty, skincare science, wellness technology, and device-driven skincare treatments-to drive innovation that aligns with consumer needs and regulatory boundaries. Steer the development of user-relevant design targets for product performance and user experience, acting as the beacon of these targets for engineers, industrial designers, and commercial marketers. This includes safety, efficacy, and human-factors criteria for skincare and medical-device-adjacent products, ensuring products meet high standards for skin compatibility, clinical validation, and precise user interaction. Partner with Consumer Insights to develop testing objectives and incorporate consumer feedback into product design. For skincare and device-adjacent products, this may include clinical evaluation protocols, dermatologist-driven studies, panel testing, and claims validation programs. Partner with testing and quality organizations to define, develop, and manage performance and safety testing procedures. This includes expanded protocols appropriate for skincare-contact, light-based or thermal treatments, biological safety, and medical-device-inspired risk management frameworks (e.g., human factors, IEC/ISO-informed test plans where applicable). Manage product cost structure, reporting, and cost rationalization exercises while collaborating with supply chain, merchandising, and supply planning teams. This may include navigating specialized component sourcing for skincare devices, such as light/thermal modules, clinical-grade materials, or skin-safe coatings. Provide direction and oversight for go-to-market collateral, ensuring instructional material, claims language, and consumer-facing specifications are both compelling and compliant-especially critical for skincare and any device-adjacent claims. Provide direction on the development of troubleshooting guides and FAQs to support a 5-star post-purchase experience, addressing unique consumer needs around skin interaction, sensitivities, treatment routines, or device safety. Act as the product and/or category "expert" for cross-functional team member questions, including navigating the scientific, regulatory, and consumer-behavior nuances of skincare and beauty-tech products. Take leadership of larger cross-functional "breakthroughs", particularly those that elevate SharkNinja's expertise in emerging categories such as skincare technology, wellness devices, or consumer medical-device-adjacent platforms. Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in product development, product marketing, marketing, human factors engineering, or a related field, preferably at a consumer goods company. 5+ years leading product development in consumer products. Experience in skincare, beauty-tech, dermatology-related devices, or medical-device-adjacent consumer technologies strongly preferred. Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, Management, Engineering or a combination of the above. Advanced experience in human factors, biomedical engineering, dermal sciences, or device development a plus. Prior experience hiring, managing, and goal-setting with teams of varying experience levels; experience leading teams working on regulated, safety-critical, or clinically tested consumer technologies is highly desirable. A "100% on" consumer-first perspective when introducing new products or improving existing products, with sensitivity to the unique considerations of skin health, dermatological safety, and efficacy claims. Ability to effectively "manage up" by communicating your top priorities and seeking feedback. Strong relationship-building, interpersonal, and communication skills across multifunctional teams including clinical partners, dermatology advisors, safety and regulatory teams, where applicable.
