Aquatics Supervisor Job Type: Part Time - Seasonal Pay Rate: $18/hr. Category: Operations Location: Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, Texas WHAT WE PROVIDE: This is a seasonal position at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, in San Antonio, TX. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Oversees daily operation of an area in the water park to ensure a total safe operation and overall satisfaction with individual attention and service. Monitor lifeguard breaks and rotations throughout the operating day. Provides first class Guest Service and creates an atmosphere that requires the same of all Team Members. Practices, supports, maintains and enforces a total safety culture. Assist in managing aspects of Waterpark Operation to include staffing, training, and emergency response. Ensures compliance with all Ellis & Associates, Six Flags Corporate policies and all Standard Operating Procedures. Completes thorough daily inspections of all attractions and rescue equipment before park opening. Creates and maintains a positive, high performance team culture generating increased retention, motivation, and team morale. Monitor operations for procedure compliance. Coach and empower others, provide feedback to the team, and ensure accountability of the Team. Creates and maintains all programs related to Safety, Friendliness, Cleanliness, Guest Service, and any other programs developed to support the Aquatics Department and Six Flags Fiesta Texas as a whole. Coordinates and performs training, including department orientation, slide training, continuous on the job, in-service training and frequent daily auditing. Mentors all aquatics Team Members to achieve goals through positive communication, encouragement and coaching. Administer correct and consistent discipline measures to ensure all standards are being upheld in all regards. Adheres to and enforces all park policies. Performs all other duties as assigned or as necessary to support the Aquatics Department and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. WHAT YOU WILL NEED: Must be at least 18 years of age A clear demonstration of excellent Guest Service skills and an evident commitment to our Guest First philosophy. The ability to stand and walk for long periods of time outdoors in various weather conditions to include extreme heat and sun. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and essential computer applications. A valid State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Park Driver's License upon eligibility. As a Lifeguard at the Thrill Capital of New England What You Will Be Doing: Keep a close eye on swimmers in the wave pool, lazy river, and many exciting water attractions Act as a first responder and jump in the water to keep guests safe Assist guests in and out of rafts and cycle through the line efficiently Calculate the proper dispatch interval between riders Provide guests with a safe and enjoyable ride experience Keep ride patios and midways clean and looking great How You Will Do It: Ability to work in an environment as fast-paced as our water slides Will complete and maintain Ellis and Associates training and certification Pass ride certification tests with 100% accuracy Understand basic rescue techniques, first aid, and CPR Strong attention to detail, not easily distracted, and commitment to safety Friendly, outgoing personality Positive attitude to make guests excited about their ride or swim Must react well in stressful and emergency situations What You Will Need: Must be 16 years or older Must be able to swim 200 yards in 15 minutes, retrieve a 10-pound brick from the bottom of a pool, tread water for two minutes, and lift yourself out of the pool Able to meet the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, including walking long distances, standing for long periods of time, lifting, working at heights, etc. Excellent verbal communication skills; Ability to read, speak, write, and understand the English language Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays What's in it for you? Must be able to: o Swim at least 200 yards non-stop freestyle or breaststroke. o Retrieve a 10lb brick off the bottom of a pool (7-10ft deep) after surface diving with eyes open o Tread water for 2 minute without the use of hands o Stand for up to 6 hours at a times and as many as 14 hours a day o Lift up to 50 lbs consistently with a maximum of 80 lbs, and carry across 25 feet o Lift up to 200 lbs with assistance o Lift and lower up to 40 lbs above shoulder level o Push/pull 150 lbs over 50 feet over various surfaces o Climb a ladder up to 12 ft. in height o Jump from a height of up to 8 feet into as few as 3 feet of water repeatedly Must be able to meet all other requirements of the Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Program. Cannot have one of the following communicable diseases, Shigellosis, Campylobacterios, Salmonellosis, Hepatitis A, Cryptosporidiosis, Giardiasis, E.coli.
