Job Description: THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKEThis position is in our Single Family Analytics division supporting industry-leading automated underwriting applications, Desktop Underwriter and Collateral Underwriter. These tools are two of our most widely used mortgage solutions. They use data and analytics to improve the origination process for borrowers, enhance loan quality, and further Fannie Mae's mission to provide access to credit in a sustainable manner. As a valued leader on the team, you will manage a team who produce insights, new product or change recommendations, process improvement or automation, and predictive modeling for parts of projects, programs, or products. You will develop the team's skills in data mining and data analysis methods, large data processing techniques, and computational programing capabilities, as well as problem-solving and communication skills. In this role, you will manage the coordination with the data engineering and data management teams, and external or created data sources to apply data mining techniques in preparation for analysis or use of enterprise data assets. The Single Family - Data Science - Manager role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:* Coordinate team activities with product and/or business owners, data engineers, and platform teams to understand business needs and current capabilities, data availability, and alternative uses to drive success of parts of projects, programs, or products.* Ensure application of statistical modeling capabilities from disciplines, such as computer science, computational science and methods, statistics, econometrics, data optimization, and data visualization.* Build predictive analytic capabilities within the team to enhance the delivery of business applications, and support the integration of data and statistical models or algorithms. Apply innovative industry practices in research and testing to product development, deployment, and maintenance.* Oversee the design and build of new modeling applications to support risk measurement, financial valuation, decision making, and business performance for parts of products or initiatives.* Ensure the team communicates complex ideas and solutions effectively to business partners through data visualizations, technical documentation, and non-technical presentation materials. Qualifications: THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAMMinimum Required Experiences* 6 years of relevant work experience Functional* Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand* Experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical questionsExperience in the process of analyzing data to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data.* Ability to frame ideas as systems and analyzing the inputs, outputs, and processTechnical Skills* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct and manage analysis to address complex business problems* Programming including coding, debugging, and using relevant languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar* Expertise in visualizing data to identify, summarize and explain observed data patterns* Skilled in the graphical representation of information in the form of a charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards with programs and tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BILeadership Skills* Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion* Collective capabilities for leadership, including leading teams, giving feedback, facilitating meetings, and coaching and mentoring* The group of skills related to Influencing including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflictDesired Experiences* Bachelor degree or equivalent* Master's Degree in any field relevant to Data Science Functional* Experience helping an organization to plan and manage change in effort to meet strategic objectives* The group of skills related to Product Development including designing products, developing product roadmaps, translating design requirements, prototyping, etc.* Experience working for a financial services companyTechnical Skills* Skilled in cloud technologies and cloud computingLeadership Skills* Experience leading an analytical or quantitative team * Experience leading the development and enhancement of a digital product Additional Information: The future is what you make it to be.
