Kelly Engineer Resources has an outstanding contract to hire/ direct hire opportunity for a CAD/CAM Programmer with strong experience in developing shop drawings & CNC programs for sheet metal fabrication operations. Our client is located in the far western suburbs and does sheet metal fabrication for the building industry. Our client is also considered an essential service. They have experienced significant growth whereas other companies have contracted. This is a great opportunity for Laser/Fabrication Machine Programmer looking to move into a design role or an experienced sheetmetal detailer looking for more manufacturing experience. Additionally, entry level graduates of Welding Technology or CAD/CAM Technology programs are encouraged to apply. Hours: 8AM -5PM, Monday - Friday some Saturdays Your main focus will be to review customer's designs then: Determine the method/process of fabrication flat layouts of sheet metal bending/forming cuts, stampings fabrication machine process (press brake, laser, turret press) Create shop drawings & assembly drawings using AutoCAD for assembler/fabricators Calculate material requirements Cutting sizes Quantities Use AutoCAD and in-house ERP system to develop programs for CNC controlled fabrication machinery. Create work orders and engineering masters using ERP system Collaborates with other CAD/CAM designers, Quality and Manufacturing personnel. Create installation sheets and documentation. Qualifications of the Successful CAD/CAM Programmer CAD/CAM knowledge in sheet metal fabrication (laser, turret, or press brake programming) is hard requirement. Any CAD/CAM combo will be considered, AutoCAD/NC based CAM a plus. Will consider entry level candidates with sheet metal related projects or internships or specialized coursework Proficient with AutoCAD, Excel and any ERP (SAP, Epicor, Made to Manager, etc.) system is a requirement. Shop math skills required Knowledge of design for sheet metal fabrication required (bend allowances, gauges, materials) High School Diploma required, trade school or other advanced technical coursework a plus.
