INTAKE NOTES: This is a STATIONARY temp assignment that has the potential to become long term based upon worker's performance and End Client needs. Hours/Shift: Monday - Friday; 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM CST. Occasional overtime less than 2 hrs. A laptop will be provided. The manager is looking for someone with shipping and receiving experience preferred, but will be willing to train. Hi-Lo experience is also a plus. This is a corporate headquarter environment. High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree) equivalent required. Previous related work experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving. Certified forklift operating license required. Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees. Requires no basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills. Good organizational skills. Ability to use computer system to record materials received and shipped. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Physical ability to assist with warehouse operations. Able to lift 50 lbs. The purpose of this position is to provide service and support to the warehouse by handling shipping and receiving tasks. Loads/unloads merchandise or material from cars or trucks. Packs and unpacks shipments, processing, scanning and shelving of parts, pulling orders, and data entry into computerized inventory control systems. Processes and verifies inventory movement transactions, maintains overall accuracy of inventory levels. Plans layout, maintenance and up keep of stockroom and other storage areas and consolidates existing stock to maximize space utilization. Operates all lift equipment in a safe manner to ensure personal protection and to ensure the protection of other personnel and company property. Maintains housekeeping in and around the back stock storage areas. Uses scanner & computer to enter data and maintain inventory. May perform other duties as assigned or requested by management. No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate tasks with coworkers within a work unit and/or project. Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
