Notify Foreman of any hazardous waste spills. Respond to work order requests. Close requests upon completion in a timely manner. Maintain litter around buildings, parking lots, and landscaped areas. Report any safety or maintenance need to appropriate Supervisor or Foreman. Report any fire or safety hazards and place barriers in public areas. Assist in snow removal and leaf removal. Takes appropriate precautions using infection controls practice. Restrooms: Clean, sweep, scrub, sanitize and wax floors. Clean, disinfect, and de-scale lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls. Clean, disinfect mirrors, sinks, vents, and water fountains. Clean and dust ledges, stalls, partitions; light fixtures, and woodwork. Replace deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap as well as clean dispensers. Report any damages, water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance. Security: Confirm all exterior doors are locked and secured prior to leaving the building. Confirm all lights are turned off. Open facilities as needed. Supplies: Maintain utility storage area and custodial equipment clean and in good order. Inspect and maintain assigned custodial equipment and small tools for proper operating condition. Operational/Departmental: Be current and knowledgeable of the proper and safe techniques of building maintenance. Maintain accurate records of work orders, completed work orders; monitor work orders, through computer software Report to assigned worksite with regular, predictable, and consistent attendance. Report to assigned worksite prepared for work. Peripheral Duties Serve as a member of various committees as assigned. Perform other duties as directed and assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience Any combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions Knowledge of custodial chemicals Ability to learn, specialized computer operating systems Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment including snow removal equipment Ability to work independently or in a team to complete daily activities according to work schedule Ability to meet timed deadlines Ability to navigate stressful situations while maintaining composure Ability to understand and follow exacting verbal and written instructions Ability to prioritize work and carry out assigned projects to completion Ability to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing Ability to use standard custodial equipment and tools properly and safely. Equipment and tools include, but are not limited to, floor buffers, steam cleaners, carpet cleaners, washers, vacuum, mops, broom, and other tools such as feather dusters both properly and safely Special Requirements Incumbent may be required to work overtime, irregular hours, varied shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must have and maintain throughout employment a valid Driver's License, as well as meet eligibility requirements of "acceptable driver standards" as defined by the County.
