Our processing capabilities include an automobile shredder, balers, shears, mobile shearing, torch processing, auto crushers, and extensive transportation services.

TPR is looking for an energetic self starter to fill our role of Non-Ferrous Laborer in our Houston Port Location. Responsibilities include:

  1. Greet and assist customers in purchasing non-ferrous scrap metal creating a positive customer experience
  2. Accurately identify the various non-ferrous scrap materials and grade accordingly
  3. Identify non-conforming or unacceptable types of scrap material
  4. Once trained will operate small material handling equipment as necessary to move materials for processing
  5. Willingness to cross train in other plant departments (equipment operation, truck scale, etc.)
  6. Typical Workweek; M-F 7:00 am to 4:45 pm and Saturdays 7:45 am to 12:45 pm with a half a day off during the week.
  7. Willing to work overtime before and after work as customer volume requires
  8. All other tasks as assigned

Qualifications include:

  1. High school diploma or GED preferred
  2. Previous experience requiring customer service to public, vendors or internal contacts
  3. Excellent customer service skills
  4. Ability to be flexible and display a positive attitude in a fast paced environment
  5. Willing to work outside in all weather conditions
  6. Basic math and computer skills
  7. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  8. Must wear all necessary PPE while working or while in the yard.
  9. Follows company safety standards at all times
  10. Knowledge of scrap materials a plus.
