Job Title: Accounts Payable Analyst Location: San Rafael, CA Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm (Hybrid: 2 days onsite, 3 days WFH) Compensation: $35-41/hour DOQ Type: Contract Overview The Accounts Payable Analyst supports daily AP operations by managing reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, and processing complex transactions while ensuring compliance with company policies. This role contributes to month-end close, investigates AP exceptions, and helps improve workflows and reporting accuracy. The position works closely with internal partners to troubleshoot invoice and supplier issues and support process optimization efforts. Responsibilities Manage account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies across AP and related accounts. Review and process complex AP transactions in accordance with established policies. Investigate invoice and supplier issues, determine root causes, submit IT tickets, and coordinate resolutions. Serve as backup to the AP Mailbox Coordinator as needed. Support month-end close activities, including clearing discrepancies and performing variance analysis. Identify trends in AP exceptions and recommend corrective actions. Assist the AP Manager with process improvements and reporting accuracy. Develop and document best practices for reconciliation and AP workflows. Complete special projects assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred. 1-2 years of accounts payable experience. Strong understanding of core accounting concepts and control principles. Ability to diagnose and resolve issues and recommend effective solutions. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel. Experience with Oracle and/or SAP preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
