SUMMARY & ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist Teacher III and IV with the performance of educational and non-educational functions. Does related work as required, works with children and parents in the same manner as a Teacher III or IV under the guidance of the Education Coordinator.


Assists in the preparation of room and materials for classroom workMaintains the room, equipment and materialsAssist with the serving of meals and nutrition supplements and involved in mealtime with the child.Provides supervision and guidance and assists with clean-up as requested by immediate supervisorAssume responsibility under the guidance of the Teacher III or IV in carrying out education programModel positive work ethic for parents and staff. Guides parents in classroom participation and observationGreets children and parents on arrival and escorts children to and from busWorks closely and directly under the guidance of the Teacher III of IV in performing tasks designated through joint planning with the Teacher III or IVInvolved in meal time with the child; provides supervision and guidelines and assists with clean upDoes related work as required with the agency in providing services to children and familiesOther duties may be assigned

In Early Head Start, acts as Substitute for education staff during lunches, breaks, planning sessions, absences. Does related work as required by the agency in providing services to children and families.
