Description:Design Release Engineer, Powercell Components The Design Release Engineer for Internal combustion Cranktrain components is responsible for the design, development, and technical leadership in the creation, validation, and release of these components for company vehicles. This includes pistons, piston rings, piston pins, connecting rods and piston cooling jets. The responsibilities include design and release of system components and/or specifying hardware requirements needed to meet program objectives. The role involves driving the design through all phases of the product lifecycle, including design concept, sourcing support, engineering validation, and production release through PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). The role will include interaction and or leading activities with multiple teams including manufacturing, quality, design, validation testing, supplier direction and purchasing groups. Responsibilities include but no limited to: Design & Development: Lead the design of powercell components, ensuring alignment with vehicle and engine sub-system requirements. Develop and refine concepts for Powercell cranktrain systems based on functional, safety, reliability, and performance requirements. Support CAD modeling, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), and other design validation methods to ensure structural integrity and compliance with standards. Position Summary Join the Portland Water Bureau as a Sr. Capital Projects Engineer (Engineer III)! The Water Bureau's Engineering Services Group (ESG) Design Section is hiring a Sr. Capital Projects Engineer to lead complex capital projects that support Portland's water infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to manage high-impact work in groundwater wells, pump stations, and distribution storage systems. In this role, you'll: Lead complex capital projects that support Portland's critical water infrastructure, with a focus on groundwater wells, pump stations, and distribution storage systems. Serve as a subject matter expert in water well hydrology, well construction, pumping systems, and tank design-providing technical guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle. Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing work environment. Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets , ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality infrastructure that meets the needs of Portland's communities. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders , including bureau leadership, operations and maintenance teams, consultants, contractors, other City bureaus, and regulatory agencies. Support program development and process improvement by shaping policies, refining workflows, and contributing to long-term planning for the Water Bureau's capital programs. Promote equity and innovation by applying inclusive practices, supporting a diverse workforce, and encouraging creative problem-solving. Lead sensitive or technically complex projects that require senior-level engineering expertise, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills.
