Job Details Job Location WHITE BLUFF, TN Position Type Full Time Job Shift 2nd Shift Description The Wide Web Printing Press Operator is responsible for the full setup, operation, and maintenance of wide web flexographic printing presses. This role ensures the production of high-quality printed materials in accordance with customer specifications, plant standards, and safety protocols. The operator also assists in training new team members and upholding performance and quality expectations throughout production. Qualifications Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Production & Press Operation Perform press setups including plate mounting, material alignment, and ink preparation specific to wide web requirements (typically 40"-80" width). Operate wide web flexographic presses safely and efficiently, ensuring consistent print quality and minimal waste. Troubleshoot mechanical, ink, or substrate issues during runs and make necessary adjustments independently. Conduct quality checks and color matching throughout the run, verifying against proofs and job specifications. Job Prep and Wrap-Up Review job tickets and conditions sheets for specifications including substrate, ink, and coating requirements. Assist in preparing inks and substrates, staging materials, and ensuring all job components are ready before setup. Ensure proper cleanup of press, ink stations, and surrounding work area at end of each run or shift. Complete accurate electronic or paper documentation of job details, material usage, and downtime. Safety and Compliance Adhere to all required safety practices, including use of PPE, lockout/tagout, and machine guarding procedures. Ensure compliance with facility food safety (GMP), product safety, and quality standards. Engage emergency stop systems and follow protocols during maintenance or mechanical troubleshooting. Communication and Collaboration Effectively communicate with oncoming shift, supervisors, quality control, and support staff to maintain continuity and resolve production concerns. Document job issues and provide feedback to management for continuous improvement. Train new or less experienced operators on wide web press procedures, maintenance, and safety. Qualifications: Prior experience operating wide web flexographic printing presses strongly preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with complex press equipment. Ability to distinguish subtle color variations and match ink to color standards (no color blindness). Basic math skills and ability to read tape measures, micrometers, and gauges. Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and manipulate larger materials with hoists or mechanical assistance. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail under production demands. Comfort standing for long periods and working in a fast-paced, physically active environment. Strong understanding of press tension, web paths, anilox/cylinder specifications, and material properties. Essential Physical and Cognitive Functions: Must possess strong reading comprehension to interpret production orders, identify correct printing plates, understand materials usage, and recognize safety instructions, reports, and warning signs. Must accurately differentiate subtle color variations to ensure color matching per job specifications. Must demonstrate basic math proficiency, including the ability to read a ruler and perform measurements for roll diameters, widths, and packaging specifications. Must have directional awareness to distinguish right from left on equipment and follow both verbal and written operational instructions. Must be physically agile-able to bend, stoop, squat, and climb as needed to access press components, move cylinders, and adjust machinery while avoiding moving parts. Must have excellent reflexes and heightened awareness to respond quickly to fast-moving machinery and prevent injury to self or others. Constant alertness is critical for safe and effective equipment operation. Must have a strong sense of smell to detect material odors or smoke in the event of fire, and sufficient hearing to follow verbal directions, detect machine signals, and coordinate with team members. Must be capable of understanding and executing detailed work instructions with minimal supervision, and must clearly communicate equipment issues to supervisors. Must demonstrate spatial awareness to accurately judge machine dimensions and align materials properly. Must show mechanical aptitude to learn the operation of press components such as anilox rolls, cylinders, tension systems, and safety mechanisms. Must apply logical reasoning to identify press issues affecting print quality, recommend corrective actions, and implement solutions effectively. Must consistently follow standardized press procedures and replicate those processes on future jobs, with adjustments as needed. Must have sharp vision (with or without correction) to detect fine details like hairlines, registration marks, plate mounting accuracy, and ink coverage for quality assurance. Must accurately enter production data electronically for reporting and tracking purposes. Must exercise sound judgment, maturity, and focus to operate the press safely, including understanding and executing emergency procedures (e.g., using the E-stop before performing anilox or cylinder changes). Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods and meet the physical demands of a fast-paced production environment. Must be able to collaborate with quality control and management to ensure print quality meets company standards and customer expectations. Must evaluate and approve only plates that meet print-readiness criteria. Must maintain high levels of precision and attention to detail while working under production timelines and expectations. Command Robbinsville is seeking Industrial Electricians to join our growing Maintenance team! We have openings on 2nd shift (3 PM - 11 PM) and 3rd shift (11 PM - 7 AM). Overtime is available. The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the printing facility. This role ensures that presses, finishing equipment, material handling systems, and building electrical infrastructure operate safely and efficiently to support production schedules. Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and controls used in printing and finishing operations. Troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues on presses, conveyors, motors, drives, PLCs, and control panels. Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to diagnose and resolve issues. Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA, and facility safety standards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts usage. Collaborate with production supervisors, machine operators, and maintenance team members to resolve technical problems quickly. Support facility projects including equipment installations, upgrades, and plant electrical improvements. Assist with maintaining backup power systems, lighting, and energy management controls. Participate in continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives. Other job related duties as assigned. Requirements: Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a certified electrician apprenticeship program preferred. State-issued Journeyman or Master Electrician license (as required by local jurisdiction). Minimum 3-5 years of experience within a printing facility, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, motors, VFDs, control systems, and instrumentation. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Familiarity with safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and industrial electrical codes. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting. Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
