I. JOB OVERVIEW Job Description Summary: The Division for Student Affairs engages and supports student learning by creating and fostering communities which promote personal development. Students are offered opportunities, services, and activities that promote connectedness, diversity, inclusion and belonging. The Student Affairs team is comprehensive, is collaborative, and supports the mission to be academically rigorous and simultaneously student-centered. The Student Health Center (SHC) provides high quality, affordable healthcare and resources to students. It offers a range of confidential services to support medical and mental health needs, as well as health promotion and prevention services to guide students in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The Director, SHC Administration Operations, acts as a liaison between students, vendors, providers, and the university, providing information and access to enrollment information for the GW student health insurance program to all GW students. This position manages all aspects of campus hard waiver and voluntary insurance plans. Reporting to the Managing Director of DSA Administration & Operations, the Director of SHC Administration Operations will be responsible for the following: Develops, revises and implements standards and policies for the administrative, financial and operational aspects of the Student Health Center. Performs financial planning, forecasts and analysis. Assures that proper internal controls are in place to safeguard SHC assets. Conduct periodic meetings with the DSA finance director to monitor budget performance explain variances and make appropriate adjustments to ensure meeting budget revenue targets. Coordinates with Human Resource client partners around business functions for non-clinical staff including hiring, performance evaluation, performance coaching, terminations, promotions, wage/salary adjustments, payroll activities, disciplinary decisions and grievance procedures. Coordinates, in conjunction with the SHC leadership, logistics of administrative human resource function for clinical staff. Responsible for tracking license status for clinical staff, keeping records of associated expiration dates and notifying clinical staff about renewal timing, as appropriate. Develops and implements programs designed to retain staff and enhance teamwork among working groups. Develops orientation for new hires; coordinates the training of staff. Periodic meetings with HR Client partners to ensure compliance on HR issues. Collaborates with the clinical management team to track and report trends and determine actions needed in association with visit and call volume and availability of appointments. Lead a multidisciplinary team in providing strong and consistent customer service. Monitors and enhances customer service by, assisting staff, providers and patients with resolution of problems whenever possible. Develops customer service protocols and identifies training and development opportunities. Participates in meetings to identify quality assurance objectives. Regularly monitors client levels of satisfaction with services. Manages the technology resources for the service, including all computers and the oversight of the applications of the clinical management programs for the center. Ensures timely and properly maintained website. Conduct periodic needs assessment for technology upgrades. Participates in upgrade testing for university systems such as Banner, Oracle, Kronos to ensure proper functionality related to SHC. Coordinates and monitors compliance issues, including the fee for service contracts, vendors and management of the facility for service. Coordinates service needs with building management and facilities service providers. Oversees management of DC-mandated immunization requirements, including annual program planning and contact with national and local public health service officials. Assists in administration and annual negotiations of the Student Health Insurance plan in conjunction with the SHC leadership and the Dean of Students. Participates in the implementation of procedures, collection of data, and development of systems related to the Student Health insurance plan. The position is based at GW's Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC. The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned.
