POSITION SUMMARY The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and improving manufacturing systems or related processes. This position is responsible for helping to establish a continuous improvement culture across the organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Develops product cost, bill of materials, routings, and document changes for designated areas. • Assists in the planning, development, and costing of new products and processes. • Assists in the development of tooling and fixtures required for production operations. • Supports the Quality Assurance team in root cause analysis and corrective actions. • Troubleshoots new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes. • Manages small to medium projects in a team environment. • Supports, develops, and implements plant layouts, cell designs, standard work (process sheets), set-up reduction, quick changeovers, inventory pull systems, line side replenishment, continuous flow, mistake proofing, and total productive maintenance. • Identifies opportunities or implements changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts. • Applies continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness. • Prepares documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures. • Interacts with vendors as needed or directed. • Provides technical expertise or support related to manufacturing. • Incorporates new technology, methods, and processes to improve existing operations. • Reviews product designs for manufacturability or completeness. • Assists in the training of operators in new or existing processes. • Designs, oversees acquisition and installation, or troubleshoots manufacturing equipment. • Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline. • Strong problem-solving abilities. • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, blueprints, and industry or customer specifications. • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Office 365 environment and apps is a plus. • Committed, dedicated, and self-motivated work ethic, taking full ownership of projects or assigned tasks. • The desire to strive for continuous improvement and excellence within a fast-paced growth environment. PREFERRED SKILLS • Familiarity with Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing. • Previous experience in manufacturing environment. • Familiarity with chemical vapor polishing, thermo-forming, machining, and fabrication equipment and processes. • Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar 3D solid modeling. This highly visible role is responsible for driving efficiency, quality, and safety while developing a high-performing production team. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works collaboratively across functions, and uses data to make smart operational decisions. You'll be a key member of the leadership team, ensuring our people, processes, and performance align with company goals and operational excellence. What You'll Do Lead, coach, and develop production teams - ensuring clear communication, accountability, and growth. Oversee daily manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, and delivery goals. Actively engage on the shop floor to identify and resolve production challenges. Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance) to drive improvements. Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure performance and support data-driven decisions. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree required, engineering, manufacturing, or related field preferred. Fluoropolymer/plastics experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyze production data, and present performance insights. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Demonstrates a strong understanding of appropriate production KPIs and how to develop, measure, and report operational metrics to drive performance and accountability.
